Black Qubd was founded in 2016 by Harri Dhokia; a London based designer with over 20 years’ experience in Interiors.
A collaboration with a Belgian company called Benj & Soto resulted in the launch of ‘Sringara’. This was a range of luxury cube furniture inspired by traditional Indian tie-dye fabric commonly known as ‘bandhini’.
You can read more about the Sringara product range here.
The unique cubes have been manufactured by hand and the collection consists of 6 cubes available in a variety of vibrant colours.
As a result, the name ‘Qubd’ (pronounced ‘cubed’) came about and the brand was born.
In April 2017, the business launched a range of funky home accessories as an expansion to the product range. This included a range of kitchenware, statues and gifts.
The brand continues to grow online, on social media, Etsy and through collaborations with other small businesses.
Selling home accessories is a side hustle for Harri who spends most of her time focusing on her interior businesses Black Interiors and Renovations 101. But, Black Qubd is Harri’s passion and she personally sources products that are different, colourful and funky.
